The best way to play Chromatron is to get your friends to play too. You'll find that you solve some puzzles they don't, and vice versa. It's a lot more fun to get hints from someone that you know than from an impersonal web page like this one.
But if you don't have that option, or everyone is stumped, then you might want to try these hints. But you should really give each level a fair shot before trying the hints; the game becomes boring if you just turn to the hints right away.
